A Virtual Cultural Exchange Program
StudentPlanet is a classroom-to-classroom program that uses the internet to give youth from different cultures an opportunity to engage in a meaningful and direct exchange of ideas. Students correspond via StudentPlanet's secure website during the school year and are encouraged to build personal connections to their overseas partners.Participating classrooms follow a curriculum, classes are matched one-to-one and digital media gives students the ability "see the world through another's eyes". The program is currently focused on exchanges between schools in China and the United States and is especially well suited for language courses.
StudentPlanet's program and website are new and improved for the 2006-2007 school year.
Broadband access to the internet is required. Technology support for students to use digital media is strongly encouraged. Use of digital video and audio is optional.
